The short version
NagMail reads your Gmail in read-only mode to find deadlines (bills, due dates, appointments, travel), turns them into reminders, and nags you until they’re done. We don’t sell your data, we don’t store your email contents, and you can disconnect or delete everything at any time.
What we access
- Your Gmail (read-only). With the
gmail.readonlyscope, we fetch only deadline-shaped emails (bills, invoices, appointments, bookings, travel). We skip promotions, social, and sign-in/verification emails. - Your account info. Email address and basic profile from sign-in (email/password or Google).
- Push subscriptions. If you enable notifications, the browser subscription needed to deliver them.
What we do with it
- Email text from matched messages is sent to Google’s Gemini API to extract structured deadline details. We use a paid API tier where available so your content is not used to train models.
- We store the extracted reminder (title, date, amount, category, a short snippet) — not the full email.
- We send you notifications based on your chosen settings.
What we DON’T do
- We don’t sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We don’t store your full email contents.
- We don’t read sign-in links, verification codes, or 2FA emails.
- We don’t write to or send email on your behalf.
How it’s protected
- Gmail access is read-only.
- Your Gmail refresh token is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM).
- Data is stored in Supabase with row-level security so users can only access their own data.
- Secrets and tokens are never logged.
Google API disclosure
NagMail’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Disconnect Gmail at any time from your dashboard.
- Delete your account and all associated data — contact us or use the account controls. Deletion cascades all your reminders and tokens.
- Turn notifications on or off whenever you like.
